Our Choir

Come, Hear Our Gospel in Song

The Holy Spirit Orthodox Church Choir is composed of dedicated members of our community, each bringing a diverse musical background. The choir plays a vital role in the spiritual life of our church, regularly providing music for the Divine Liturgy on Sundays, as well as Pre-Sanctified Liturgies, Hierarchical Divine Liturgies, and special feast days.

The repertoire for these services encompasses a variety of sacred musical traditions, including Russian, Greek, Romanian, Georgian, and Byzantine styles. In addition to choral performances, several choir members also serve as chanters for Orthros, Vespers, and other services in the traditional Byzantine style. While much of the church’s choral music is arranged in four-part harmony, Byzantine chanting is typically performed in unison or as a solo accompanied by Ison (drone). Currently, four of our chanters are enrolled in a Byzantine music course, which further deepens their knowledge and expands their repertoire of hymns.

The Holy Spirit Orthodox Church Choir rehearses on Saturdays at 4:00 PM. Beyond their liturgical contributions, the choir also performs Christmas carols in December and presents informational concerts at the annual Middle Eastern Dinner. Additionally, members participate in retreats to enhance their skills and explore new musical traditions.
